The "Majlisi-uns" ("Meeting of Friends") literary
assembly, which had a special place in the 19th-century Azerbaijani word-art
heritage, resumed its activity. In this regard, a meeting was held in the city
of Shusha with the joint organization of the Ministry of Culture and the
Department of the State Reserve of the city of Shusha, the Ministry of Culture
reports.
After the resumption of the activities of the "Majlisi-uns", which
were once active in Shusha under the patronage of Khan's daughter Khurshidbanu
Natavan, attended by well-known poets and musicians of the region, and had a
special role in shaping the literary environment of the time,

Karimov emphasized that this literary assembly, which was established in Shusha
in 1864 with the participation of poetry and art figures, expanded its
activities in 1872 under the leadership of Khurshidbanu Natavan, a prominent
figure of Azerbaijani poetry.
"Majlisi-uns", which was attended by well-known poets and
musicians of the region, played an important role in the formation of the
literary environment in Karabakh and in Azerbaijan in general and the
upbringing of literary generations at that time.
During the "poetry hour" of the assembly, writers from Azerbaijan
and other Turkic-speaking countries recited poems dedicated to the 190th
anniversary of Khurshidbanu Natavan accompanied by Oud and Kanun players.
