TWO YEARS PASS SINCE LIBERATION OF SHUSHA FROM OCCUPATION

Today, two years have passed since the liberation of Shusha from Armenian occupation. On November 8, 2020, President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev addressed the people from the Alley of Martyrs. In his address, the president announced the liberation of Shusha city.

The operation to liberate the city of Shusha was carried out professionally thanks to the coordinated work of the army units of Azerbaijan.

While some of the army units were concentrated in the direction of Dashalti, Azerbaijani special forces entered the city of Shusha by crossing difficult roads and climbing rocks. Armenian soldiers were destroyed in the battles in Shusha and the Azerbaijani flag was planted in the city.

The operation for the liberation of Shusha is one of the subjects investigated by military institutions.

Recall that Shusha was occupied by the Armenian army on May 8, 1992.

Today, Shusha hosts various local and international events.

On June 15, 2021, the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan signed the document containing the strategic alliance between the two countries in Shusha. It was an important message to the world. Let us inform that this document is called Shusha Declaration.
