MARTYRS WHO WROTE HISTORY AND DID NOT FIT INTO HISTORY

Today, on September 27, two years have passed since the beginning of the Patriotic War. In this regard, our martyrs will be commemorated with deep respect in religious temples - mosques, churches, and synagogues operating in Azerbaijan, and prayers will be recited to the souls of the children of the Motherland who died for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. At 12:00, the memory of the martyrs will be commemorated with a minute of silence. It should be noted that in the morning of September 27, 2020, the Armed Forces of Armenia launched a large-scale provocation and fired intensively at the positions and settlements of the Azerbaijani army located in the front-line zone from large-caliber weapons, mortars and artillery devices of various calibers. In order to prevent the combat activity of the Armenian army and ensure the safety of the civilian population, the command of the Azerbaijani army decided to launch a quick counter-attack operation of the troops along the entire front. This operation, later named "Iron Fist", turned into the Patriotic War. From the first hours, our heroic army broke through the front line of the enemy's defense. The villages of Garakhanbeyli, Nuzgar, Yukhari Abdurrahmanli, Boyuk Marjanli, Village Horadiz and Garvand were liberated. Liberation of important strategic heights in Aghdara and Murovdag range was the first news of victory. On October 3, the strategically important village of Madagiz, a day later the city of Jabrayil was liberated from occupation, on October 9 the settlement of Hadrut, our tricolor flag was flown in Fuzuli on October 17, on Khudafarin Bridge on October 18, and in Zangilan on October 20. On October 25-26, 17 villages of Zangilan, Jabrayil and Gubadli regions and the city of Gubadli were liberated. In the period from October 28 to November 7, 53 villages and several strategic heights were freed from occupation, and on November 8, Shusha regained its freedom. Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev announced the release of Shusha on November 8 from the Alley of Martyrs. Having suffered a heavy defeat, Armenia had to sign the act of capitulation. According to that document, Armenia handed over Aghdam, Kalbajar, and Lachin regions to Azerbaijan Armed Forces on November 20, 25, and Lachin, on December 1.
